Revolut to List Bonk, Distribute $1.2M of Meme Coin in 'Learn' Campaign
European fintech Revolut plans to list Solana's largest meme coin, Bonk, and launch a $1.2 million campaign to encourage users to learn about the cryptocurrency. The campaign still needs approval from Bonk's governing council, which manages the project's treasury of over $100 million in Bonk tokens. The listing will further Bonk's presence in mainstream crypto trading platforms, following a 19,000% price increase since November 1, 2023. Bonk was launched by Solana blockchain enthusiasts following FTX's implosion in November 2022 and is used as an incentive mechanism by many applications built on Solana. Revolut also plans to distribute Bonk to users as a reward for learning about the cryptocurrency through the app. The proposal being voted on would allocate 93 billion Bonk tokens for the learning campaign, aiming to increase Bonk's user base by 500,000.
