Ripple Announces $5M Grant APAC Universities
Ripple Labs will invest an additional $5 million to support academic research and blockchain talent in the Asia-Pacific region through its University Blockchain Research Initiative (UBRI). This funding will be allocated to universities in Taiwan and Australia, among others. UBRI has previously committed $1.1 million to Yonsei University in South Korea, $1.5 million to Kyoto University and the University of Tokyo in Japan, and over $3 million to Nanyang Technological University and the National University of Singapore. In Taiwan, UBRI will collaborate with the National Kaohsiung University of Science and Technology on real-world asset tokenization. In Australia, partnerships with the Australian National University and Victoria University will total $1.3 million. Ripple previously allocated $25 million in stablecoin RLUSD to US education nonprofits and announced a $50 million grant for the National Cryptocurrency Association to enhance crypto education in the US.
