Ripple gets a final go-ahead to launch its own U.S. national trust bank
Summary
The OCC has fully approved Ripple National Trust Bank, following conditional approval in December 2025. The federally supervised bank will manage reserves backing Ripple’s RLUSD stablecoin and provide trustee and regulated digital-asset custody services. RLUSD will continue to be issued by Ripple’s New York-regulated subsidiary, adding federal oversight alongside state supervision. Launched in December 2024, RLUSD has a market value of about $2.5 billion and is backed by dollar deposits, U.S. government securities and similar assets. Ripple says it will coordinate with regulators as the bank begins operating and U.S. stablecoin rules take shape.
