Ripple invests in Zilo and Licuido to assist tokenized capital markets push

Summary

Ripple announced strategic investments in Zilo, a global transfer-agency asset-solutions provider, and Licuido, a UK FCA-regulated tokenization firm, to expand access to tokenized financial assets on XRP Ledger (XRPL). The investments aim to add regulated transfer agency, issuance, and collateral mobility to XRPL, helping tokenized funds serve as collateral from issuance and reducing idle collateral. No financial terms were disclosed. Zilo has raised $58.7 million in equity funding. The move follows Aviva Investors’ launch of a tokenized share class of its US Dollar Liquidity Fund on XRPL and Ripple’s recent launch of Ripple Mint for managing its RLUSD stablecoin. XRPL currently ranks 11th among blockchain networks with $368 million in tokenized real-world assets.
