Bitcoin ETF calls surge 24-fold as puts fall 52.75%, reaching 1.95M IBIT underlying shares
UBS’s Aug. 13 Form 13F showed a sharp Q2 increase in IBIT exposure. Reported non-option IBIT shares rose 11.94% to 407,890 from 364,371 at March 31. The change was much larger in options: shares underlying reported calls jumped from 80,000 to 1.95 million, an increase of 2,337.5% and more than 24 times the March level. Reported puts moved the other way, falling from 303,300 underlying shares to 143,300, down 52.75%. The filing assigned $64.9 million of underlying market value to the call row, $4.8 million to puts, and $13.6 million across the five non-option share rows. Form 13F reports underlying share amounts and quarter-end values, not premiums, strikes, expiries, or whether options were exercised. The filing does not identify the account beneficiaries or the purpose of the positions.
