Romania Postal Service Installs Bitcoin ATMs in Branches
Poșta Română has installed its first Bitcoin ATM in Tulcea, collaborating with Bitcoin Romania. Additional ATMs will be set up in Alexandria, Piatra Neamț, Botoșani, and Nădlac as part of a digital infrastructure overhaul to enhance services in underserved areas. The presence of Bitcoin ATMs in post offices indicates increasing acceptance of cryptocurrencies by governments and institutions. Bitcoin adoption is rising among individual investors, businesses, and nation-states, with nearly 30 million BTC wallets holding over $100, a 25% increase year-over-year. However, global Bitcoin ownership remains low, with only 4% of the population owning BTC, and 14% in the US. Bitcoin's market cap exceeds $2 trillion, indicating significant growth potential as it aims for a larger share of the store-of-value market valued at approximately $225 trillion.
