Samsung unit explores stablecoin infrastructure with Upbit’s operator
Samsung SDS is discussing cooperation with Dunamu on stablecoin infrastructure, digital asset systems, and AI-based payment models. The company says it already has experience from a tokenized securities platform project and end-to-end stablecoin process validation, and expects the partnership to expand its role in digital asset infrastructure. The move follows Samsung Electronics’ plan to add stablecoin support to Samsung Wallet and Samsung affiliates’ earlier agreement to acquire a combined 4% stake in Dunamu. Samsung SDS describes the investment as strategic, aimed at building digital financial infrastructure with Dunamu’s blockchain expertise and its own IT, cloud, and security capabilities. Separately, Samsung SDS is growing its AI and cloud business, with Q2 revenue up 5.9% year on year, cloud revenue up 17%, and external cloud revenue up 75%. The company also plans major AI infrastructure expansion through 2031.
