Societe Generale expands its stablecoin to Ripple’s XRP Ledger to drive further adoption

Summary

SG-FORGE plans to extend its EUR CoinVertible (EURCV) stablecoin to the Ripple-backed XRP Ledger (XRPL). The integration aims to leverage XRPL's fast cross-border payments and efficient asset tokenization, with transaction finality of 3-5 seconds providing a competitive edge in remittances and real-time banking. XRPL can process up to 1,500 transactions per second, supporting large-scale operations for global payments. Ripple’s Custody Solutions will provide necessary technical services. SG-FORGE emphasizes that XRPL's speed and cost-efficiency align with its mission for compliant digital assets. This integration is part of a multi-chain strategy, following EURCV's launch on Ethereum and expansion to Solana, which aimed to enhance adoption. The current market cap for EURCV is approximately €38 million.
