Solana-Powered Decentralized Wireless Network Helium Reveals AT&T Collab
Helium is collaborating with AT&T to provide mobile hotspots for AT&T subscribers, enhancing network coverage through Helium’s decentralized network. This partnership will utilize Helium's community-operated network, which consists of hotspots operated by individuals and businesses that earn rewards via Helium’s Solana-based token. AT&T has over 118 million mobile subscribers, and existing Helium hotspot owners will benefit from increased traffic as these users connect to the network. Helium currently has more than 93,000 hotspots globally, supporting nearly 700,000 daily users. The collaboration aims to improve connectivity in underserved areas and is part of Helium's strategy to expand partnerships with telecom carriers. Additionally, Helium Mobile has previously partnered with Telefónica to extend coverage in Mexico and launched a “Zero Plan” mobile service. The SEC has dismissed its case against Helium, confirming that its token and hotspots are not securities.
