Stablecoins Go Mainstream as Samsung Wallet Adds USDC on Solana
Summary
Samsung Wallet launched USDC accounts on Solana for eligible U.S. Galaxy users, enabling them to buy, hold, send and receive stablecoins without a separate crypto app or private-key management. The service, built with Bastion and Coinbase custody, is available on about 82 million compatible devices and supports transfers to other users, external wallets and qualifying bank accounts in over 60 countries. Samsung charges no fee for wallet-to-wallet transfers, but card top-ups cost 4% and withdrawals also incur fees. The company may add payment options and expand to other markets, subject to regulation.
