Stacks Activating Nakamoto Upgrade In 8 Days, Will STX Break $2?
Stacks Network, a Bitcoin layer-2 protocol, manages over $109 million in assets and is set to launch a significant upgrade called Nakamoto on October 29. This update aims to enhance throughput and security, allowing Stacks to process transactions within seconds, decoupling from Bitcoin's 10-minute block production speed. The upgrade is expected to improve scalability and user experience while maintaining a collaborative relationship with Bitcoin miners. All transactions will still require confirmation on the Bitcoin mainnet, ensuring security without reversals. Meanwhile, the native token STX is currently consolidating between $1.20 and $2, having recovered nearly 60% since an early August crash. A breakout above $2 could lead to further price increases, potentially reaching $4.
