Strategy skips Bitcoin buy to repurchase $176M of STRC preferred shares
Strategy paused its weekly Bitcoin purchase to buy back 1.8 million STRC preferred shares for $176.3 million, and it doubled its Digital Credit Securities Repurchase Program to $2 billion. Its Bitcoin holdings remain unchanged at 845,050 BTC, bought for $63.6 billion at an average of $75,412 each. STRC traded slightly below its $100 par value, which can limit Strategy’s ability to raise capital through new STRC sales and may pressure dividend costs. Strategy had resumed buying BTC last week with a $370 million purchase after a break since mid-June. Meanwhile, other corporate Bitcoin treasuries kept buying: Strive added 1,375 BTC for $109 million, raising holdings to 24,531 BTC, and France-listed Capital B made a $25 million purchase, its largest in nearly a year.
