Taurus links digital asset platforms to Swift’s blockchain ledger
Summary
Taurus has integrated its tokenization and custody platforms with Swift’s blockchain-based ledger, allowing clients to connect existing digital asset infrastructure for payments using bank-issued tokenized deposits. Initial client integrations are expected within days, with the first DLT transactions through Taurus platforms likely within weeks. Swift said its ledger is designed as an orchestration layer for 24/7 cross-border payments, coordinating transfers between banks before final settlement through existing systems such as real-time gross settlement rails. Swift has already moved into live testing with 17 banks, and Standard Chartered and HSBC recently completed the ledger’s first live cross-border transaction.
