Tether Unveils New Platform to Simplify Asset Tokenization for Businesses, Nation-States
Tether has launched its asset tokenization service, Hadron, aimed at converting various real-world assets into digital tokens on blockchain technology. The platform facilitates the full tokenization lifecycle, including risk management, KYC, AML compliance, and secondary market monitoring. Hadron supports multiple smart contract networks and Bitcoin scaling networks like Blockstream's Liquid. Tether's initiative seeks to create new financing opportunities for nations and corporations while enhancing accessibility and transparency in the digital asset space. The company aims to diversify beyond its stablecoin business, which includes the $126 billion USDT and $600 million gold-backed token XAUT. Tether reported $7.7 billion in net profits this year, largely from its U.S. Treasuries investments. Tokenization is viewed as a multi-billion dollar industry as financial institutions adopt blockchain for efficiency and transparency.
