Raini Studios will shut down its Avalanche-based NFT card game, Raini: The Lords of Light, on July 21, distributing 2 million RST in token rewards before closure. The game, which launched NFT cards on Ethereum in 2021, faced declining player numbers despite over $1 million in rewards. The studio plans to pivot to new action games, Lucha Throwdown and Uncaged: The Jon Jones Brawler, while adopting a deflationary tokenomics model. The RST token has increased by 60% recently but remains down nearly 99% from its peak. CCP Games is offering a 10-day free trial for Eve Frontier, an Ethereum-based MMO spinoff of Eve Online, from June 27 to July 7. The game allows resource harvesting and base building, with Grace points convertible to Eve Points. CCP raised $40 million in 2023 for this blockchain adaptation, and player interest has been positive. The Sandbox announced a partnership with Cirque du Soleil to bring performances to the metaverse.
