Trump memecoin dinner attendees could include foreign nationals — Report
Top holders of Donald Trump’s memecoin, TRUMP, may include foreign nationals or Americans living abroad, as 19 of the top 25 wallets used exchanges that exclude US customers. Over half of the top 220 holders, eligible for a private dinner with Trump, also utilized foreign exchanges. Applicants for the dinner must pass a background check and cannot be from countries on a watchlist. Concerns have arisen among US lawmakers regarding potential foreign influence and ethics violations, with accusations of “pay-to-play” corruption leading to calls for impeachment. Democratic lawmakers are delaying crypto legislation until issues surrounding Trump’s crypto dealings are addressed. Trump launched the memecoin on January 17, with two companies linked to him controlling about 80% of its supply. A trucking company recently invested $20 million in the TRUMP token, potentially aiming to influence Trump's trade policies.
