US prosecutors will search Do Kwon’s Twitter account for information
Prosecutors in the US criminal case against Do Kwon plan to request search warrants for his email and Twitter accounts, expecting to uncover “multiple terabytes of data” relevant to the case. Discovery will include Kwon's business and personal email accounts, his Twitter account, and four electronic devices. Kwon faces nine felony charges related to alleged fraud connected to the collapse of the Terra ecosystem in 2022. He was extradited from Montenegro to the US on December 31 after a lengthy legal process. A sealed superseding indictment filed in 2024 added a ninth charge: money laundering conspiracy. The case parallels that of Sam Bankman-Fried, who faced similar legal challenges. Prosecutors anticipate seeking a waiver from Montenegro regarding the money laundering charge, asserting that evidence of Kwon's involvement in money laundering will support other charges. If convicted, Kwon could face significant prison time.
