US Sanctions Ransomware And Infostealer Hosting Service
The US Treasury has sanctioned the Russia-based Aeza Group for allegedly facilitating ransomware and info-stealing activities. Aeza Group provides bulletproof hosting services, selling access to servers for cybercriminals. Sanctions include a crypto wallet with $350,000, several Russian and UK companies, and four Russian nationals linked to Aeza. The sanctioned crypto address was used for cash-outs from Aeza’s payment processor and connected to other cybercrime services. Aeza is accused of supporting various ransomware and malware groups. The sanctions freeze all US assets related to Aeza and prohibit financial transactions with them. This action is part of a broader strategy to disrupt cybercrime infrastructure, targeting key providers rather than just individual criminals.
