USDC And Bitcoin Lead $850 Million Exchange Outflow Wave
Centralized crypto exchanges saw about $850 million in net outflows heading into July 1, led by USDC and Bitcoin. USDC accounted for roughly $503 million, a move that could reflect self-custody, liquidity shifts, DeFi deployment, or institutional settlement rather than a clear bullish signal. Bitcoin recorded about $352.7 million in withdrawals, often viewed as a sign of stronger holding intent, though it can also reflect operational custody changes. The outflows matter because they may indicate capital leaving trading venues as the market searches for direction after a weak June. Still, exchange-flow data is only one input: the signal becomes more meaningful if withdrawals persist and align with improving price action, liquidity, and broader risk conditions.
