Vitalik outlines vision as Ethereum ecosystem addresses hit new high
Vitalik Buterin outlined his focus areas for Ethereum development in a recent post, emphasizing single-slot finality, smart contract execution updates, and privacy enhancements. The Ethereum network reached over 15.4 million unique addresses interacting weekly, with nearly 13.45 million on layer-2 protocols. Buterin advocates for prioritizing privacy and has proposed technical solutions to improve it. He plans to research single-slot finality, allowing blocks to finalize in 12 seconds, enhancing transaction confirmation times. Buterin aims to make Ethereum stateless, improving scalability and decentralization by requiring users to provide state data with transactions. He also intends to enhance cybersecurity, usability, and decentralization across the ecosystem. Beyond protocol improvements, Buterin will focus on communication tools, governance changes, and open-source funding. He mentioned exploring cryptography and other lower-level developments while noting areas where he is not directly involved, such as increasing Ethereum's gas limit for scalability.
