Wall Street Invests in $135M Round from Digital Asset
Digital Asset has raised $135 million in a funding round led by DRW Venture Capital and Tradeweb Markets, with participation from Goldman Sachs, Citadel Securities, BNP Paribas, and others. The funding aims to accelerate the adoption of institutional and decentralized finance on the Canton Network, a permissionless layer-1 blockchain that emphasizes privacy and compliance. Digital Asset plans to integrate "billions" of real-world assets (RWAs) into the network. The Canton Network, announced in May 2023, has already facilitated over 350 simulated transactions involving various asset classes. The RWA market has grown significantly, increasing over 260% in the first half of 2025, surpassing $23 billion in valuation. Recent developments include partnerships by Alchemy Pay and Guggenheim to expand into RWAs and digital commercial paper offerings.
