Zebec Enhances KYC and AML Compliance Stack with Gatenox Acquisition
Zebec Network has acquired Gatenox, a compliance and identity platform, to enhance its regulatory infrastructure and expand into regulated markets. The acquisition integrates native KYC, KYB, and AML tools into Zebec's Web3 payment stack. Zebec aims to pursue regulatory registration under the EU's Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA) and the UK's Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) by 2025. Gatenox is not currently registered with financial authorities but has founders with experience in regulated institutions. The acquisition allows Zebec to eliminate reliance on third-party compliance providers, specifically moving away from Sumsub. Zebec has raised $35 million from notable investors and its native token is traded on multiple exchanges.
