Akash’s Solana plan would end current staking rewards while allowing new AKT issuance
Akash’s Proposal 346, still under a vote when checked Nov. 2, would authorize moving AKT and the marketplace to Solana in separate stages. The proposed 1:1 token portal would be irreversible and remain open for two years, but would not preserve staking income. Current-chain inflation rewards would end at marketplace cutover; validator roles and income would end when the old chain halts 90 days later. Akash has promised replacement staking details, but no yield or payout formula is published. A draft design permits new AKT emissions for provider incentives and the treasury, while the rate, decay, allocation and hard cap remain unresolved. Emissions could start at zero pending governance approval. Compute-credit supply effects also remain unclear: the roadmap describes possible shortfall minting, whereas the proposed Solana system bars the program from minting and keeps supplied AKT as vault collateral. The article distinguishes migration balances from future issuance and temporary collateral.
