Altcoins AVAX, HYPE, WLD, Fly As Bitcoin Hovers Near All-Time High
Bitcoin (BTC) is near its all-time high, trading at $109,779, just 2.2% below the peak of $111,814. Altcoins have experienced gains, with Avalanche (AVAX) rising 5.8% to $23.67 after FIFA announced it would migrate its NFT platform to Avalanche's blockchain, although AVAX is still down 83.7% from its all-time high. World (WLD) increased 27.2% to $1.38 following the rollout of its World ID system in the U.S., but remains 88.2% below its peak. Hyperliquid (HYPE) reached a new all-time high of $39.68, up 50.4%, linked to a significant Bitcoin bet by trader James Wynn. Other altcoins like Bittensor (TAO), Optimism (OP), and Arbitrum (ARB) also saw gains but are far from their all-time highs. Bitcoin dominance has risen from 36.95% to 61.12% since late 2022, indicating potential for an altcoin season as it approaches 70%. The recent market movement follows President Trump's announcement to delay a tariff increase on EU goods, allowing more time for negotiations.
