Base Activity Climbs To 7.5 Million Transactions In A Day
Base reached about 7.5 million daily transactions, marking another scale milestone for Coinbase’s Ethereum Layer 2. The figure signals strong network throughput, but it does not reveal how many unique users are active or how much value is moving. Because Layer 2s make transactions cheap, much of the activity may come from micro-transactions, automation, social actions, games, and small application-level interactions rather than high-value settlement. Base’s growth is increasingly driven by consumer apps, smart wallets, and social or commerce products in addition to DeFi. Coinbase’s built-in distribution gives Base an advantage by lowering the friction for exchange users to enter onchain experiences. The key question is whether this activity remains sticky after incentives fade; retention and economic value per user matter more than headline transaction counts.
