Binance co-founder CZ proposes Bitcoin, BNB for Kyrgyzstan reserves
Changpeng “CZ” Zhao proposed Bitcoin and BNB as the initial digital assets for Kyrgyzstan's national crypto reserves. He advised the country to start with these assets while advising the National Investment Agency (NIA) on blockchain and crypto matters. Zhao reportedly holds about 94 million BNB tokens, valued at approximately $55 billion. Binance announced a partnership with Kyrgyzstan to launch a crypto payments service, signing a memorandum of understanding to introduce Binance Pay and enhance crypto education through Binance Academy. Kyrgyzstan is positioning itself as a digital asset-friendly jurisdiction, with President Sadyr Zhaparov signing a law for a central bank digital currency pilot project. The country also plans to launch a gold-backed stablecoin called Gold Dollar (USDKG), pegged to the US dollar and backed by $500 million in gold.
