Binance to plan UK relaunch with FCA license application: Report
Summary
Binance is reportedly preparing to apply for a UK Financial Conduct Authority license, which could allow some services to resume for UK residents in 2027. The move would come as new UK digital asset rules take effect. Binance’s UK arm was told in 2021 it could not carry out regulated activity in the UK, and Binance later stopped onboarding new UK users in 2023 due to FCA financial promotion rules. The FCA’s new crypto framework gives firms from September until Feb. 28, 2027 to apply before the regime starts on Oct. 25, 2027, and will require standards similar to other UK financial firms.
