Bitcoin has 185 blocks left before BIP-110 rules begin rejecting blocks

Summary

Bitcoin is nearing the end of BIP-110’s signaling period, but support appears far below the threshold. Only 48 of 1,831 observed blocks, or 2.62%, were signaling as of Aug. 7, and even if all remaining blocks signal, the period would end at about 11.56%, far short of the 55% required to lock in. BIP-110-enforcing nodes reject non-signaling blocks from height 961,632, while non-enforcing nodes may still accept them if they satisfy normal Bitcoin rules. That creates a risk of divergent block acceptance unless miners produce enough BIP-110-valid work after the boundary. The schedule runs mandatory signaling through block 963,647, lock-in fails at 963,648, and reduced-data rules would activate at 965,664 for enforcing nodes only. Bitcoin Core does not enforce BIP-110, while OCEAN said it would offer separate signaling and non-signaling endpoints. Bitcoin Knots warned older non-enforcing software could lose safe validation in some cases.
