Bitcoin Payments App Strike Launches for European Customers

Summary

Strike, a payment application that uses the Bitcoin blockchain, has expanded its services to Europe. The app allows customers to buy, sell, and withdraw bitcoin (BTC) in the region. Strike, developed by Chicago-based Zap Solutions, was launched in the U.S. in 2020 and has already been rolled out in Asia, Africa, the Caribbean, and Latin America. The app is similar to Cash App or PayPal, but uses the Bitcoin blockchain for transfers, making them faster and cheaper. European customers can buy, sell, and withdraw BTC directly with euro deposits through SEPA, the region's payments provider. The recipient can choose to receive the value in bitcoin, euro, or Tether's USDT stablecoin in some regions.
