Bitcoin Suisse to Cut Up to Half Its Swiss Jobs in Overseas Shift
Bitcoin Suisse plans to move up to 60 jobs abroad from its Zug headquarters as it shifts from a Swiss crypto specialist toward a global wealth manager. Back-office and administrative roles are most affected, with work moving to Bratislava and later Vietnam. Employees were informed at a town hall, and final cuts will follow a 10-day consultation; initial layoffs are expected before year-end. Founded in 2013, the firm built its business in crypto trading, custody, staking, and lending. It now aims to serve wealthy private clients, family offices, and institutions with broader wealth and asset-management services. Management says international growth is the priority and that the move is driven by lower operating costs, not the current crypto downturn. Bitcoin Suisse has also been expanding its regulatory footprint, including licenses in Liechtenstein, Bermuda, and Abu Dhabi. Zug will remain the headquarters, the Bitcoin Suisse brand will stay, and the company remains open to acquisitions in Switzerland.
