Bitmine’s $257M annualized staking income ‘fills’ operational gaps, share buybacks: analysts
Bitmine Immersion Technologies, the largest corporate Ether holder, said it has staked over 5 million ETH, which could produce about $257 million in annualized revenue. Ether staking is now a major income source for Bitmine, accounting for roughly 98% of its fiscal-quarter revenue and helping fund operations and share buybacks without selling ETH. At the same time, Ether treasury firms are under pressure from falling ETH prices and unrealized losses. Bitmine holds 5.54 million ETH worth about $9.4 billion, while SharpLink, the second-largest holder, reported a large quarterly loss driven by crypto markdowns. The trend highlights Ether’s appeal as a yield-generating treasury asset compared with Bitcoin, but staking revenue is not risk-free because it depends on ETH price, staking yields, and operational, liquidity, validator, and regulatory risks. Ether staking currently yields about 2.61% APR, with more than 34% of ETH supply staked.
