BNB Chain burns $1.2B in October tokens, leaving real supply impact hidden
Summary
BNB’s 37th quarterly Auto-Burn on Oct. 19 removed 1,646,196.44 BNB, about 30,369 more tokens than the July burn, a 1.9% increase. Its announced value was $1.197 billion, 28.5% above July’s $931.7 million, largely reflecting a higher implied value per BNB rather than a much larger token reduction. The dollar figures do not show that BNB was bought on the market or reveal the quarterly price inputs used to calculate the burn. Auto-Burn determines token quantities using price and BSC block production; BEP-95 separately destroys a validator-governed share of gas fees. The October notice put remaining supply at 131,512,085 BNB and reiterated the 100 million Auto-Burn target, but did not quantify immediate trading supply or market impact.
