Summary

In 2025, Brazil’s crypto transaction volume rose 43% year over year, and the average per-user investment surpassed $1,000, according to Mercado Bitcoin. Crypto usage is shifting from speculative trading to more structured portfolio approaches, with 18% of users diversifying holdings across multiple cryptocurrencies. Bitcoin remains the most traded, followed by USDT, ETH, and SOL. Stablecoin use surged, now making up three times more transactions than last year, as users sought lower volatility. Investments in low-risk crypto products, specifically digital fixed-income assets (Renda Fixa Digital), increased 108%, totaling $325 million distributed. All age groups, especially those 24 and under, increased participation. Investment remains concentrated in the Southeast and South regions, though activity is spreading nationwide. Itaú Asset Management suggests a 1%–3% Bitcoin allocation in portfolios due to geopolitical risk and currency volatility, highlighting Bitcoin’s distinct and potentially hedging nature.
