Chainalysis sues US over $95M ICE contract with TRM Labs
Chainalysis Government Solutions has sued the U.S. government in the Court of Federal Claims over ICE’s decision to award a sole-source blockchain analytics contract to TRM Labs. The contract is valued at about $94.6 million and covers forensic software and support services for Homeland Security Task Force investigations from July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2027. Chainalysis says ICE’s decision was arbitrary, capricious, and unreasonable, and claims it had already submitted a capability statement after ICE announced plans to obtain the services from TRM. The complaint remains sealed because it includes confidential and proprietary information. TRM has intervened, and the court has set briefing for Friday and oral argument for Sept. 2, with the government seeking a decision by Sept. 10.
