Circle still tells users to buy Noble USDC on Coinbase after cutoff date passes
Coinbase’s Aug. 17 deadline for USDC deposits and withdrawals on Noble had passed, but Circle’s public Noble instructions still pointed users to Coinbase and to select Noble as the network. Coinbase’s warning, issued July 15, said not to send USDC to Coinbase’s Noble deposit addresses after the cutoff because funds may be unrecoverable. This applies only to Coinbase’s custodial Noble rail, not to Noble-native USDC itself. Coinbase still supports USDC on Ethereum, Base, Solana, Arbitrum, Optimism, and Polygon. Circle says Noble remains USDC’s native issuance chain in the Cosmos ecosystem and is accessible through Circle Mint for eligible businesses and compatible wallets such as Keplr, Leap, and Cosmostation. A separate migration issue exists: Noble is still on legacy CCTP V1, which Circle plans to phase out starting in July 2026, while it works on an interim routing solution with Noble and Cosmos teams.
