Asia sees digital asset custody infrastructure deals from Ripple, Coincheck
Ripple has partnered with SettleMint to simplify institutional tokenized-asset services, combining Ripple Custody with SettleMint’s Digital Asset Lifecycle Platform to support custody, issuance, and lifecycle management in one system. The goal is to reduce complexity for financial institutions securing digital assets. This follows another institutional infrastructure deal in Japan, where Coincheck Group teamed up with DFNS to develop wallet and custody services. DFNS offers wallet-as-a-service with transaction management, governance controls, and support for more than 100 blockchain networks. Both partnerships reflect growing demand for regulated digital asset infrastructure as institutions face gaps in custody and operational tooling. The Asia-Pacific region is expanding rapidly in onchain activity, and Japan is advancing crypto regulation by treating crypto assets more like traditional financial assets.
