Coinbase And Samsung Bring USDC Directly Into Samsung Wallet
Summary
Coinbase will power a USDC feature in Samsung Wallet, set to roll out to eligible users in the United States from the final week of October. The service could reach 82 million compatible Galaxy devices, though that does not mean 82 million active users. Coinbase Prime will custody USDC, with Bastion providing custody and payment infrastructure. Users will be able to send USDC to compatible crypto wallets and, in more than 60 countries, to qualifying bank accounts that may receive local currency. Transfers require identity verification and biometric authentication. The initial launch is US-only and limited to USDC; Samsung says it may later add in-store and online payments and expand to other markets.
