Coinbase brings global crypto derivatives liquidity to US with Deribit integration

Coinbase completed its integration of derivatives exchange Deribit, connecting its international derivatives business with Deribit and giving eligible US customers a regulated route to offshore crypto derivatives liquidity. US institutions can access Deribit options and perpetual futures through Coinbase Prime and Coinbase Financial Markets, its CFTC-regulated unit. Options access through Prime is expected in the coming weeks; eligible non-US retail access is also planned, with US retail access targeted for later this year. Coinbase said derivatives account for about 80% of global crypto trading volume. Its international exchange balances and positions were migrated to Deribit on Oct. 1.
