Tether, Kazakhstan cenbank mull tenge stablecoin and asset tokenization

Summary

Tether has signed an agreement with Kazakhstan’s central bank and Alatau City Authority to study a tenge-pegged stablecoin and develop a real-world asset tokenization framework. The parties will assess issuance models, use cases and assets for possible pilots, including an Alatau project that may use Tether’s Hadron platform. They also plan training on stablecoin issuance, reserve management and tokenization. Kazakhstan is pursuing broader digital-asset initiatives, including a government development plan, crypto mining measures and sandbox projects; its reported National Strategic Crypto Reserve has reached $700 million.
