Coinbase denies systems breach, says vendor exposed customer data
Summary
Coinbase said a security incident at analytics vendor Amplitude exposed contact information belonging to a small subset of its customers. The exchange said its own systems were not breached and customer funds were unaffected. Coinbase did not disclose how many users were impacted. The disclosure came amid reports of other data-security incidents, including a possible breach affecting Bithumb and a personal and credit information leak involving 38,490 Daishin Securities customers. Coinbase separately reported a breach in May 2025 that affected less than 1% of its monthly transacting users, with estimated remediation and reimbursement costs of up to $400 million.
