Coinbase’s Base network surpasses 1 million daily active addresses, outpaces competitors
Coinbase's layer-2 network, Base, has surpassed 1 million daily active addresses, reaching 1.05 million on August 24. This achievement correlates with a record-high of over 4 million transactions in 24 hours, significantly outpacing Arbitrum's 1.97 million transactions. Base now accounts for approximately 10% of decentralized exchange trading volume, primarily driven by its integration with Uniswap, where it holds 84% of daily active addresses. Despite lacking a native token, Base has gained traction through interoperability and innovative features, becoming the second-largest Ethereum layer-2 network with a 17% market share and $6.3 billion in assets locked. The recent launch of Basenames allows users to purchase names linked to their wallet addresses, attracting 200,000 users in its first week.
