Crypto investment firm RockawayX puts $150M behind push for trade finance, private credit onchain
Summary
RockawayX is committing $150 million to Catapult, a program supporting tokenized private credit through funding, product structuring, liquidity, market making and distribution. It will target trade and supply-chain finance, asset-backed securities, collateralized loan obligations and real-estate credit. The firm sees higher-yielding assets less correlated with crypto as a major future onchain use case, and aims to address challenges beyond tokenization, including asset origination, trading and investor exits. Tokenized real-world assets total about $38 billion, while RockawayX forecasts a $10 trillion–$20 trillion market by 2030, well above Citi’s $5.5 trillion base-case estimate.
