Crypto PAC notches primary wins, but loses $2M Florida race
Crypto-aligned PACs linked to Fairshake had a strong primary night, with four of five supported candidates winning or advancing in Alaska, Florida, and Wyoming after about $3.6 million in ads. Protect Progress backed Democrat Lois Frankel in Florida’s 23rd district, while Defend American Jobs supported Republican Nick Begich in Alaska, Sydney Gruters in Florida, and Harriet Hageman in Wyoming; Gruters and Hageman won their primaries, and Begich is expected to advance. In Florida’s 24th district, Democrat Oliver Gilbert won despite more than $2 million in negative ads from Protect Progress. Fairshake has spent heavily since the 2024 cycle and says it is building a pro-crypto Congress ahead of 2026. The results may matter for the CLARITY Act and broader crypto regulation, since the next Congress could determine whether the bill advances or stalls.
