Crypto PAC pours $362K into California race voters essentially decided in August
Summary
Fairshake-affiliated Protect Progress reported spending $362,000 on ads supporting California Democrat Aisha Wahab against Melissa Hernandez, despite Wahab having defeated her in an August special election and both candidates being rated strongly pro-crypto. The spending comes ahead of the 2026 midterms, when district boundaries will change. Fairshake reported $193 million in cash on hand in January and has continued backing candidates nationwide. Its Republican-aligned affiliate reported spending more than $6.7 million to oppose Nebraska Senate candidate Dan Osborn and $8 million supporting Ohio Republican Jon Husted; spending against Democrat Sherrod Brown in Ohio has topped $46 million.
