Revolut secures Gibraltar crypto license to support global expansion
Summary
Revolut has received a Distributed Ledger Technology Provider license from Gibraltar’s financial regulator for its new digital-assets subsidiary. The company says the license will support expansion of crypto services into international markets beyond the UK and European Economic Area, but has not identified countries or launch dates. Revolut already serves UK and EEA customers under separate entities, with EEA operations governed by MiCA. The license follows preliminary crypto-related approvals in Dubai and the United States. Revolut reports more than 80 million retail customers globally, including about 16 million crypto users.
