Ethereum Sets October 26 Hoodi Test For Glamsterdam Upgrade As 200M Gas Limit Nears
Summary
Ethereum developers scheduled the Glamsterdam upgrade for Hoodi testnet activation on October 26 at 17:42:48 UTC, following its October 6 activation on Sepolia. Hoodi’s gas limit will rise to 200 million. Glamsterdam includes protocol-level proposer-builder separation, block-level access lists to support parallel processing, and changes to gas accounting. The Hoodi test will check client compatibility and how the changes perform; validators and node operators need compatible clients. Ethereum has not set a mainnet activation date, and the testnet gas limit does not guarantee an immediate increase in mainnet capacity.
