Crypto, Tokenization, AI Are Priorities for Monitoring, FSB Says Ahead of G20 Meeting
The Financial Stability Board (FSB) continues to prioritize monitoring crypto assets, tokenization, and artificial intelligence (AI) in the global financial system. This information was shared by FSB Chair Klaas Knot in a letter to finance ministers from the Group of 20 (G20) countries. The FSB plans to publish a status report on its crypto roadmap and a report on the financial stability implications of tokenization in October, followed by a report on the financial stability implications of AI in November. The FSB and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) had previously announced a crypto policy roadmap that called for global coordination on crypto policy. The FSB's focus for 2024 and beyond is on the effective implementation of its global regulatory and supervisory framework for crypto-asset activities, markets, and global stablecoin arrangements.
