Crypto.com Hits $20B Valuation After $400M Citadel Securities Investment
Citadel Securities invested $400 million in Crypto.com at a $20 billion valuation, giving the market maker a stake in the Singapore-based exchange and marking Crypto.com’s first institutional funding round. The deal signals growing Wall Street interest in crypto infrastructure and is intended to help Crypto.com expand into tokenized securities, derivatives, and other asset classes. Crypto.com said the capital supports its push toward a more institutionalized crypto market. Citadel Securities framed the investment as part of the convergence between traditional finance and digital assets, with potential gains in market efficiency. The move follows a wave of similar investments by major finance firms into crypto platforms and infrastructure. Crypto.com, founded in 2016, ranks 11th by trading volume and has been adding broader financial services, including stocks and prediction markets.
