US arbitration giant launches specialist panel for crypto disputes
The American Arbitration Association has launched a Web3 Panel to handle disputes involving blockchain, digital assets, and other decentralized or automated commercial systems. The panel includes arbitrators with experience in law, technology, academia, litigation, and digital-asset businesses. It is intended to address issues such as contract interpretation, governance, asset control, cybersecurity, transaction records, and cross-border enforcement. The move reflects growing demand for specialist dispute-resolution infrastructure as crypto, smart contracts, and AI-driven or agentic commerce become more common. Arbitration remains voluntary and only applies when parties agree to use it; the AAA is not gaining regulatory authority over crypto.
