El Salvador: We Won’t Sell Bitcoin, Naysayers Should Apologize
President Nayib Bukele has defended El Salvador's Bitcoin investment strategy on social media after Bitcoin's price recovered. He suggested that critics should admit their misjudgments and apologize. Bukele stated that if they were to sell Bitcoin at the current rates, the country would recover all previous investments and make a profit over $3.2 million. However, according to the Nayib Tracker, El Salvador's Bitcoin batch is currently worth less than what it was bought for, meaning the country is down by over $1.9 million. Despite this, Bukele and El Salvador continue to support Bitcoin and have no intention of selling. Bukele has called for journalistic integrity and accountability in reporting on El Salvador's Bitcoin investment journey.
